A coconut crème Chantilly macaron along with a mango and coconut wedding cake –speak about the confections range Verga Wang and French patisserie Ladurée have created abandoning the age-old style of liliput bride and groom standing on the wedding cake. A first-of-its-kind, this designer-dessert collaboration has remodelled wedding-ready collection by scratching the surface of what earlier seemed dreamy.
This dreamy confection collection is inspired by a Vera Wang bridal dress design and pay tribute to her lifelong connection to Paris, Laduree’s home base. “Among my most memorable and enchanting experiences in Paris has always been Laduree, whether it was tea sandwiches, shopping with my mother, or taking my daughters for lunch in St Germain, Laduree has always been a part of my Parisian experience,” Wang said. She added that she was happy to collaborate with Elisabeth Holder, Heir & President of Laduree US, on designing a bespoke wedding cake inspired by one of her gowns.
Vera Wang Pour Laduree creations will be exhibited in the windows of Laduree Madison Avenue and SoHo locations in New York from January 10 to 26. Individual cakes are priced at Rs 1,272 while full-sized cakes can be bought at Rs 1,272 per guest (minimum 40 guests). The limited edition macrons are available in four sizes: Box of six (Rs 1,525), small cubes of 45 (Rs 10,533), medium cube of 80 (Rs 17,482), and a large cube of 125 (Rs 27,018).
“This partnership is a wonderful opportunity for us to highlight the Laduree Wedding Collection. It is the first time that a designer has created a cake for us,” Elisabeth Holder, President of Laduree US said.
