They are the signifiers of status, luxury and desirability, the ultimate aspiration in the fashion industry. Oscillating between trends and physical nuances, models in the fashion industry have rose through anomaly and are overwhelmingly creating their presence felt on the catwalk, campaigns and on adverts. Fashion has now created a space for alternate looks which is increasingly coming close to the norm.
Diversity is the new shift in the fashion industry and is clearly a good sign for models. Bhoomika Arora and Pooja Mor, the last known face of strength and colour in indian fashion have collectively made a mark, blazing down those ramps and gracing the posters of modeling agencies abroad. Unconventional beauty may be the latest trend in fashion, but Indian fashion is still far away from accepting that. However, with the rise and rise of these two supermodels, fresh crop of emerging faces are also vying, aided with social media platforms, to crack the fashion world.
