Jayanti Reddy Presented Unconventional Fashion Aesthetics At The Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2018
Jayanti Reddy presented “Life In Monochrome” with a range of silhouettes that were flamboyant, yet eccentric at Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2018.
It was a beautiful collection that told the story of a woman embarking on a journey by finding herself and identifying her true identity, in monochromes of black or white.
Here was fashion that broke rules in an adventurous manner but in a mesmerizingly sophisticated way. Jayanti’s ensembles spoke of women empowerment and emancipation, where the silhouettes just like her muse, were structured but retained their fluidity.
The clothes were perfect enough to tease the warm summer breeze and yet each outfit was constructively manipulated to achieve a constrained silhouette. Highlighting her penchant for the whimsical in embroidery, Jayanti added silhouettes that were totally unconventional.
With a treasure trove of designs, she showcased the perfect combination of style, elegance, energy, enthusiasm and glamour. Exquisite fabrics were used, while the devil lay in the details; hence embellishments were kept to a minimal.
Off-shouldered blouses, capes with cold shoulders, dhotis, skirts and ruffled dupattas made the collection classy and edgy. Experimenting with peplums were saris and embroidered jackets. Tassels played a significant role, while scalloped hemlines made the silhouettes artsy and fashionable.
For a show stopping entry, it was the gorgeous Bollywood diva Shilpa Shetty in an exquisitely embroidered ivory lehenga with scalloped hemline and blouse, teamed with a ruffled dupatta.
When women want to make a sensational entrance and are daring enough to carry off strong crafted ensembles, Jayanti Reddy’s “Life In Monochrome” will have the perfect impact on the gathering.
Ridhi Mehra Sekhri Presented A Mélange Of Cultural Accents At Lakmé Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2018
Last season, the “Adorne” collection at Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2017 by Ridhi Mehra Sekhri was a visually stunning line inspired by the beauty and intricate interiors of Islamic domes.
For Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2018, Ridhi once again wooed the audience with her “Cinco” collection that defined mystique glam and was a mélange of cultural accents.
With creativity being the central theme, the silhouettes were a fusion of Islamic, Indian, Spanish, French and Chinese art forms, rendered with a high level of workmanship. The mastery of the silhouettes lay in marrying Japanese prints with Indian Mughal prints.
Enchanting the audience with her design directions that were every bit wearable, Ridhi’s innovative and high on glamour quotient was the main highlight of the Spanish open jackets and fringed epaulettes that were juxtaposed with delicate French flared sleeves.
Adding premium quality embellishments, like jaal, tassels, zardosi, ostrich feathers and bugle beads were dramatically used to create optical illusion like embroidery. Ridhi gave the garments a modern twist and yet retained their originality with Gotta work that gave a contemporary update and turned them into a lyrical, stylish line of clothes.
A black/white creation with beautiful embroidery on skirt, bodice and hemline, teamed with a white, bell-sleeved blouse had a marked Spanish flavour.
The glamorous showstopper, Bollywood beauty Pooja Hegde looked divine in a stunning white creation that featured an embellished bodice replete with silver and tulle that flowed into a white, luxurious skirt that skimmed the floor. Here was a creation that will create a sensation at any soirée.
Ridhi Mehra Sekhri’s dramatic ultra-glam line “Cinco” was just what the fashion forward women need for the coming season.
Colours Of The Bageecha Flowed On The Ramp During The Vineet Rahul Collection At Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2018
Like the spring/summer blossoms that bloom in gardens or Bageecha, designers Vineet Kataria and Rahul Arya for their label ‘VineetRahul’ unleashed a colourful line of romantic, soulful, emotional creations at Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2018.
Using light as air fabrics that floated down the ramp, the designing pair dreamt up a cool summer story. There was hand woven Chanderi lovingly created in Madhya Pradesh and the beauteous Kota from Rajasthan along with fine linen and mulmul as the basis of the garments. Visualizing a modern take on the lehenga and skirt were a range of semi-formal wear.
Dusty aqua, sorbet pink, blue and neutral ivory came alive for the Gulaab, Champa, Rajniganda and Bougainville bouquets strewn on the ensembles. Hand block printing, hand embroidery, machine texturing and appliqués added to the visual glamour of the creations.
The beautiful Bollywood star Tisca Chopra graced the ramp in a head-turning blush pink striped lehenga that was embossed with floral embroidery, while the sequined blouse and cape with a bow at the centre made a lasting impact.
