Indian Designers Who Made A Mark On The London Fashion Week

To celebrate India-UK year of culture 2017, IMG Reliance and the British Fashion Council declared that they will be supporting the three Indian Designer to showcase their designer during the London Fashion Week. These three designers participated in International fashion Showcase 2017. and won award for India and was announced as “International Fashion Showcase Country Award” defeating 25 nations which were judged by the panel of industry experts.

The three Designers- [KA] [SHA] by Karishma Shahani Khan, Ikai by Ragini Ahuja and Antar-Agni by Ujjawal Dubey has been invited by the British Council to showcase their collection to world media and buyers and can enhance their business internationally. These three designers have a contemporary view to designing with strong Indian influence making it represent the country fashion philosophy to a worldwide audience.

Karishma Shahani

She had a great influence from India and try to cater large audience of a new age for which they use multi-culture and various techniques. Her collection is an extensive mix of simple textiles and materials with detailed surface treatments. During Lakme fashion week 2017 her inspiration was a sari-clad lady in the trench. She uses contrasting garments with colors ranging from off-white, sunshine yellow, navy blue, red to ice mint and emerald.

Antar-Agni by Ujjawal Dubey
Antar Agni a young brad recognized for its draped outlines and patronage by both men and women alike. His collection in Lakme fashion week 2017 called “free and nothing” stayed far away from his all-black avatar collection in 2017. He uses white as his star color which creates fresh cheer to the garments. He also uses dark navy blue and soothing sand color to break his monopoly for white.

Ikai by Ragini Ahuja
Ragini design is normally identified and set apart from others because of her boxy design with genderless outlines, structured cuts, and delicate drapes. Ikai uses leather and fabric applique. These Indian fusion clothes are a refreshing departure from traditional embroideries.
