Last week it was announced that Forever 21, fashion retail chain from Los Angeles, California, and part of Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Ltd launched its first store in Kolkata. As the brand inches closer to the eastern market, it also reflects the widening trend on the Kolkata high street. Spread across 6,500 sq ft. of retail space, the 22nd store of the brand is located in the heart of the city at South City mall.
“Kolkata is not only the most potential market but in East India but one among the key markets in India and we are delighted to launch our first store in Kolkata, just in time for the year end festive season,” says Rahul Jhamb, India Brand Head, Forever 21.
During the launch, Jhamb added that India is a momentous step as we continue to leave our imprints in the country by making fast fashion accessible to the young fashionistas. “Our new Holiday collection, designed to make fashion loving millennials look awesome during vacations and New Year will be available across all our stores. We are grateful to our patrons for making Forever 21 the most loved fashion destination of the country,” said Jhamb.
The growth of the fashion brand across demographics is quite unique as they have covered every niche in regards to budget buyers and consumer profile. With its increasing portfolio of stores, the brand is now getting closer to everyone from across the country. The brand is also targeting to spread its limbs in the eastern market as Guwahati has been considered to be the next stop. Jhamb adds that “as we have a strong presence in most of the metro cities now, we are looking at tier II cities like Lucknow, Jaipur, and have opened stores in Ahmedabad and Indore as well.”
Forever 21’s collection is quite affordable which offers different women’s collection from sequin halter jumpsuits, embellished mini suede skirts to shearling and slip dresses. For men, the range varies from crew-knit sweaters to distressed denim and trousers.
